Hip carrying: Is it truly ergonomic and healthy?

We all know the feeling. Your baby is in a phase where they want to be held constantly, yet they long to explore the world. Most of us instinctively hoist the child onto our hip and grip them tightly with our arms to prevent a fall. While it's a natural reflex, it's a disaster for our backs in the long run.
At our Bambeari workshop, we looked at how to make hip carrying truly ergonomic – for both the child and the parent.
1. Ergonomics for the baby: The "M" position is key
From the baby's perspective, the Bambeari GO carrier is a fully ergonomic aid.
Healthy hip development: The cut of the carrier is designed so that the baby's legs form an "M" shape, which is crucial for healthy joint development.
Spine support: A specially designed central belt serves as a stable support, ensuring you don't "squeeze" the baby in the carrier, but rather provide natural space for a healthy posture.
Safe materials: We use only certified materials that are gentle on sensitive baby skin.

2. Ergonomics for the parent: Is asymmetry a problem?
Honestly – carrying on one shoulder is asymmetrical. If we claimed it's the same as carrying on both shoulders, we wouldn't be telling the truth. But take note – it is still 100% better than just holding a child in your arms.
Why?
Weight distribution: While holding a child in your arms puts the entire weight on your muscles and spine (which you unnaturally misalign), the carrier distributes the weight to the skeletal system and the shoulder.
Premium latex instead of foam: To relieve the shoulder, we don't use ordinary foam in the strap, but perforated latex. It provides fantastic elasticity, distributes pressure, and never loses its shape.
Strength of joints: Thanks to high-strength German threads and certified buckles, the child is held firmly against your body, stabilizing your center of gravity.

Who is the hip carrier actually for?
Bambeari GO is the ideal helper for short and medium-distance transfers – shopping, traveling, getting out of the car, walks, or those moments when your toddler is learning to walk and constantly switches between the ground and your arms.
Important notice: For maximum safety, it is essential to always support the child with one hand while using the Bambeari GO.
Hip carrying in an ergonomic carrier is a smart compromise between your comfort and your child's needs. It allows you to have at least one hand free and protects your spine from the extreme strain you would experience when carrying a child in your arms without any support.
